What may sound familiar to most of you is that I also just as you are doing have looked at opportunities for years. Lets just say since about 1989. I have looked at offline opportunities and later when Internet got off the ground I looked into online opportunities. Business start up Magazine and Opportunities Magazine was a regular item in my place. I watched all of the late night TV, gurus, Does anyone remember Dave Del Dotto. I bought that. I think it was $299. That was in 1990. I read all the material, but guess what happened. Nothing! Why? There are 3 reasons that pop out right now.
I lacked the confidence to go out and try. I wanted to make the money but I did not have the courage that it took. This went on with me for years.
I did not have the fortitude to look deeper into an opportunity, the study, the consistent mind set that was required.
For years I tell you I did this with opportunity after opportunity. How much did I spend over all, thousands. How did this make me feel. I felt like a loser, not good enough, not smart enough. No confidence in my ability. But here is the kicker. All that time, I just kept going to job after job after job. Mainly hating them and myself. My next endeavor will be a book on all my Mean Bossess. A best seller I know!
Late 90's I finally got some nerve and started a home business - selling over the telephone. It was working but I needed more cash flow or me working it full-time, but I was afraid to let my JOB go and take a chance. It failed at that point. I tried something else in 1999. Buying and selling! It did take off and I worked it on the weekend while working my JOB during the week. Literally I was on the fence with job business for for another 3yrs. Until I let the crappy job world fall away.
A little disclaimer - a lot of people work jobs and a lot of people are happy with them. I believe most people are miserable. So if you are still reading this I believe you have some discontent with your income level or your current working environment and you are seeking a change.
Guess what? My work at home businesses were not over night successes nor did I make a million in one day, I had to work and work and work. I did not have a mentor or a single guide to hold my hand. But hours of research. Its just how it is sometimes. I had to develop discipline, desire and dedication.
Funny how we go to work everyday, whether its moving paper around, working in a factory, or even teaching others a task or occupation. We are good workers, we get to work on time most of the time, we may take work home, we may even be the type to help others who are behind. But we cannot see a way to do this for ourselves. And that was the single thing that clicked with me. " I am doing all this hard work for someone else. I mean giving my best. Why cant I do it for myself"
What will it be for you. Actually, don't think like that, think about what would it be like if you could just make and extra $1000, $2000, $5000 in a month on top of what your job is providing. I know you have thought about it. Its time to get serious about it.
